Conductas adaptativas generales de jóvenes provenientes del sector rural de la comuna de Villa Alegre

Abstract

The present study determined the level of development of adaptive behaviors in young people teaching in Villa Alegre, Commune of the Region of Maule, Chile. In formation was collected from the analysis of information collected through the ins trument Adaptive Behavior Assessment System. This instrument allows evaluating three dimensions of it: conceptual, social and practical dimension. The instrument was applied to 106 students who attend secondary school, from a Professional Technical High School. The results indicate that in the conceptual area, both teachers and parents / caregivers presented similar perceptions in communicative, academic and self-directed skills. In the social area, the results show that teachers showed a higher level of perception in leisure skills than their parents/carers counterparts. Finally, in the practical area, perception was similar in self-care, social skills, occupational ability, however, in the use of RC and school life are similar. These results suggest that during the development of the teaching, learning and school experience, it is necessary to contrast the abilities to improve the adaptive behavior of young people with intellectual disabilities.
